Due to the discovery of patients of the new variant of Corona 'JN-1' in the state, 'Corona Task Force' has been established and the first meeting of this task force was held on Thursday by Public Health and Family Minister Prof. Dr. Tanaji Sawant. Dr. Tanaji Sawant said that the new subtype of Corona 'JN-1' is not dangerous, but citizens should be careful.

In the backdrop of increasing numbers of patients of the new variant 'JN-1', 'Corona Task Force' has been formed in the state. Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, former chairman of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has been appointed. At the beginning of the meeting, Additional Director Health Services Dr. Nitin Ambedkar gave a presentation regarding the current situation of Corona in the state and the preparedness of the health department.

Although the state public health department's arrangements are ready for JN-1, health department officials directed the minister to be alert with all preparations. He also directed to organise colour training in those primary health centres and government hospitals where colour training has not been done.

Testing of suspected patients should be increased, their survey should be increased and they should be treated accordingly. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the citizens to welcome the New Year. At such times people go to tourist places and religious places. However, citizens should follow and take care of Covid-compliant rules in crowded places. Chairman of the task force, Dr. Gangakhedkar said, at present the situation is not such that the JN-1 subtype of Corona will pose any major threat.

However, senior citizens and patients with serious illnesses still require care. The health system is ready and people should take precautions without panic. A drug manual and necessary guidelines to maintain uniformity in treatment will soon be presented by the task force.
