In August, the civic body had invited tenders for the beautification of Morya lake in MHADA Colony near the Eastern Express Highway and Bhoir lake near Nalanda Public School.

Meanwhile, seven contractors had responded to the tender and quoted at least 20 per cent below the estimated cost.

The makeover project includes construction of steps leading to the lakes, railings, redoing entrance gates, sidewalks, gazebos, developing greenery and repair of retaining walls, stated in a report by Mid Day.

Besides, the civic administration has proposed to award the contract to J S Infratech that is ready to work at 32 per cent less than BMC’s estimate.
