Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that his party is determined to curb the growing "hooliganism" in the Vasai-Virar belt of Palghar district and seek support from voters to do so.
While addressing the rallies in Thane and Palghar, Uddhav Thackeray appealed the voters to give another term to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena alliance on October 21.
Uddhav Thackeray was campaigning for former 'Encounter specialist' Pradeep Sharma who is contesting the assembly polls from Nalasopara constituency. Thackeray said that Sharma has been fielded in the view of complaints regarding growing "goondaism".
Earlier this year, Sharma had take voluntary retirement from the police service and joined Shiv Sena to contest in the assembly elections.
You decide whether you want a policeman or a thief as your representative. I have given you a policeman," said Uddhav Thackeray while campaigning for Sharma.
Thackeray further said that Shiv Sena supports all development works in the area but it will object against anything which negatively affects the common man.
