Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray recently lauded the efforts put by Maharashtra Police and stated that no matter how much one slanders the department, the government and the state will always be proud of the achievements. Calling the department ' the state's pride' CM added that the people value how the state affairs are run and keeping the same in mind, he assured that the government will always stand by the police department with strength.
CM shared the appreciation as he inaugurated the South Division, East, West, North-South and Central Division's Cyber Police Stations.
Speaking further on the occasion, Uddhav Thackeray said that just like COVID-19, crime is also a kind of virus and the vaccine that teaches it a lesson is available in the form of Maharashtra Police, and we are all very proud of it. He said that cybercrime is invisible to the naked eye, and our war with this invisible enemy has now begun more efficiently.
Although the original police station building with Cyber Cell is 103 years old, the launch of Cyber Police Station is a step towards modernity and tradition. The nature of crime is changing, whereby the abuse of mobile phone in such cases is on the rise, with criminal gangs operating using several devices and technology. Today, one can steal information, money and a lot more through the internet, however, CM mentioned that he is proud of Mumbai Police for being the first city in the country to intimidate the criminal world.
Emphasising more on the ongoing issues of police housing, he assured that the government is committed to doing whatever it can for the safety of women and the department. He has asked the officials to bring forward the necessary proposals and which will be approved.
Talking about the recently developed police reception rooms, CM said that one can experience the difference now which are focused towards helping citizens to not be afraid of the police if they want to share information about the criminals or any other issues.
