Recently Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi government put a stay the construction of Metro 3 car shed at Aarey. Now, the Supreme Court has restrained the Maharashtra Government, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) from cutting any trees for the Metro 4 project.
These trees were being cut to clear the way for a Metro 4 line on elevated corridors from Wadala to Kasarvadavali.
According to news reports, the restraint is applicable for the coming two weeks. This judgement from the apex court comes days after the Naupada police station booked a private contractor for cutting branches of the for the Mumbai Metro 4 line.
