While we are still trying to get our heads around 4G, comparing all the packs that are available and the speeds that we get, handset makers have already started to get on the 5G bandwagon.
Today Vivo's sub-brand iQoo launched iQoo 3. It was earlier speculated to be India's first 5G smartphone. However, Realme beat Vivo in that race by launching Realme X50 5G on Monday.
That said, iQoo 3 is still the first smartphone to sport the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, the new UFS 3.1 storage standard and LPDDR5 RAM, which should translate to super-fast multitasking.
Priced at Rs 36,990 iQoo 3 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, this is not the variant that offers 5G. For that one will have to buy the top variant which is priced at 44,990 and comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
There is also a variant in between that offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 39,990.
Specifications of iQoo 3
Coming over to the specifications of this 5G phone, it will sport a 6.44-inch full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) Super AMOLED display which can support HDR 10+.
The screen to body ratio of the smartphone 91.40 per cent. As already mentioned the iQoo 3 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC along with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of connectivity apart from 5G, it also supports 4G. It is a dual-SIM phone that supports Bluetooth 5.1. There is USB Type-C 2.0, which supports quick charge. The battery in tow is 4,440mAh. As per the company claims, the battery can be charged from 0-50% in just 15 minutes using their proprietary 55W Super FlashCharge technology.
Coming over to the camera, there is a quad-camera at the back with a 48-megapixel primary camera with the Sony IMX582 sensor and an f/1.79 aperture lens. Along with this, there is also a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.46 aperture and 20x digital zoom, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel portrait camera with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfie enthusiasts, there is a 16-megapixel snapper at the front.
iQoo 3 will be available in three colour options - Quantum Silver, Tornado Black and Volcano Orange colour options.
Comparison with Realme X50 5G
As shared, Realme had beat Vivo in the race of launching 5G phone in India by launching Realme X50 5G in India. Relame X50 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, which supports 65W SuperDart flash charge technology. Other features in the phone include in-display fingerprint sensor, and dual selfie cameras.
Coming over to the price, its base model which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, carries the price tag of Rs. 37,999. The variant that has 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 39,999. While the top-of-the-line model is priced at Rs 44,999 and comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Launch date and offers for iQoo 3
The first sale of iQoo 3 will be held on March 4 at 12PM on Flipkart and the official iQoo.com website. There is a cashback of Rs 3,000 for on ICICI Bank credit and debit card holders. There are also no-cost EMI options available for this phone. Reliance Jio claims to offer benefits worth Rs 12,000 on purchase of this phone.
