In order to carry out the replacement work, the foot-over-bridge (FOB) on the south side of Kandivali station will remain shut from April 12 to July 31, 2018. Meanwhile, the commuters have been advised to use the other three FOBs which are situated in the north, centre and south side.

An official told Times of India, 

The deck of the existing FOB had deteriorated and the reinforcement steel was corroded. It was repaired many times; further repairs were not possible.”

Bhakar said that the commuters will not face any inconvenience adding that the fabrication of all the steel girders has already been completed.

It was more feasible to replace the FOB with a new one. Moreover, there are three other FOBs which are in good condition.” Western Railway chief spokesperson Ravinder Bhakar.
