Mumbaikars who are waiting for Metro-3 service will have to wait more as the metro route Colaba-Bandra-Seepz has been stalled. The process of obtaining the Metro Commissioner, Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) certificate has not started yet. Amidst this, some metro stations have not yet received fire brigade certification. While the works of some stations in phase 6 are incomplete. Overall, it will take some time to complete all these stalled works. As a result, it will be a long wait for Mumbaikars.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is working on the 33.5 km long 'Metro 3'. MMRC plans to put the first phase between Aarey – BKC into service as soon as possible. Many dates have been given for this. But the first phase is still pending. Now the MMRC is trying to implement the first phase before the Code of Conduct for assembly elections comes into effect.

The CMRS certificate is mandatory for metro operation. Metro cannot continue without this certificate. As the works of the stations are incomplete and some stations have not received the 'No Objection' certificate from the fire brigade, the process of obtaining a CMRS certificate has been stalled. Meanwhile, it is being said by MMRC that they are trying to complete these stalled works before the code of conduct and put the first phase into service.
