Autos and taxis too have pulled up their socks to deal with other online services like Ola, Uber. Now, taxis and rickshaws, including travellers, will be surveyed online to determine the fares of taxi and rickshaws. Moreover, the rickshaw and the taxi drivers will also be trained for this. Not only that, other services such as the rates of the taxi and rickshaw and other services like the level of traffic will also be analysed online now. To make this process more consumer-friendly the passengers, taxi drivers, rickshaw drivers and Rickshaw-Taxi organisation have been asked to send in their suggestions till May 15.
In a press conference held at Nariman Point, BC Khatua, president of the Rikshaw-Taxi Land Revenue Committee told that only one state has to fill a form on the website of the state government or www.transport.maharashtra.gov.in to keep its opinion. This form will be prepared on the basis of tick mark report. Citizens can fill up the online form by May 15. Considering the response of the people, the committee will submit its final report to the state government by the end of June 2017. Further, this form will be available in the languages of Marathi, Hindi and English. Other than this, the efficiency of the Auto-Taxi drivers and services other than the consumer behaviour have also been included in this survey.
Present in this press conference were Transport Commissioner Dr Praveen Gedam, committee member and former transport commissioner Dilip Jadhav.
