Like every year, this year too Indian railways will run 6,556 special trains during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja to ensure smooth travel of passengers. The number of trains has been increased to accommodate the increasing rush of passengers.


Every year, a large number of citizens from across the country visit Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja. On the occasion of this festival, residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar gather together.

Last year, Indian Railways ran 4,429 Utsav special trains to ensure comfortable travel for passengers. In such a situation, this year Indian Railways has decided to run 6,556 special trains. Central Railway is running 346 special trains for the convenience of passengers. In such a situation, 106 special trains will be run by Western Railways. Central Railways has announced many trains from Mumbai and Pune to Danapur, Gorakhpur, Banaras, Samastipur, Prayagraj, Hazrat Nizamuddin.


Keeping in mind the demand of passengers during the festive season, Western Railway is running 106 special trains with a total of 2,315 journeys from October to December 2024. These trains are running for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, North East India. Western Railway operates 14 trains from Mumbai to different parts of the country. Similarly, special trains are also running from Surat, Udhna, Vapi, Valsad, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Hapa, Okha, Rajkot, Bhavnagar Terminal in Gujarat and Indore, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
