Water supply in parts of Mumbra, Diva, Kalwa, Majivada-Manpada, and Wagle Ward Committees under the Thane Municipal Corporation, which is provided by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), will be disrupted for maintenance work. Maintenance on the Barvi gravity channel from Katai Naka to Mukund will result in a 24-hour water supply shutdown from 12:00 pm on Thursday, 26 December 2024, to 12:00 pm on Friday, 27 December 2024.
Water supply will be completely shut off for 24 hours in all parts of Diva, Mumbra (excluding parts of Ward Nos. 26 and 31), and areas under the Kalwa Ward Committee of the Thane Municipal Corporation. Additionally, Rupadevi Pada, Kisannagar No. 2 in the Wagle Ward Committee, and Kolshet Khalcha village under Nehru Nagar and Manpada Ward Committees will also be affected. Residents are advised that water supply will be at low pressure for 1 to 2 days after restoration.
Meanwhile, the Water Supply Department of the Municipal Corporation has appealed to people to cooperate with the Thane Municipal Corporation by using water sparingly during the period of reduction.
