Mumbai Police has been put on high alert after a social media post warned of potential Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts in the Dongri area during Ramadan Eid. The post claimed that illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani infiltrators might be involved in such incidents. The police have started investigating the matter, as the person who posted the warning tagged Navi Mumbai Police in the tweet. As a result, Navi Mumbai Police informed Mumbai Police about the threat.

The message to Navi Mumbai Police was that the post, made at 11 am on Thursday, warned Mumbai Police to be alert. It mentioned that between March 31 and April 1, 2025, illegal infiltrators living in areas like Dongri might trigger violence. After receiving the information, Navi Mumbai Police immediately informed Mumbai Police’s main control room. Mumbai Police then increased patrols and security in Dongri, asking citizens not to believe in rumors.

The police also searched the hilly area to find the person who posted the threat, but no suspicious activity was found. Meanwhile, the Cybersecurity Cell is using technology to track down the person responsible and has contacted X Company for information. The police have assured that they are fully prepared to maintain law and order.

In the past, Mumbai Police has received many threatening calls, including one in October last year when they got around 100 such calls. Some of these threats involved high-profile people like actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, as well as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. The police also received many false threat calls, causing unnecessary strain on their resources. In October alone, more than 70 threat messages were received, some traced to locations like London, Germany, and France, though it’s suspected the culprit may have used a VPN to hide their identity.
