Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday will present a proposal before the standing committee for repairing the structure of nine major bridges in Mumbai including Princess Street Flyover and Juhu Tara Road. The civic body has assigned ₹31 crore for the same.

After Andheri Bridge Collapse, BMC ordered a structural audit of 344 road over bridge (ROB), foot over bridge (FOB), and flyover across the city.

It was discovered that 223 bridges are under construction. Of the 223 bridges under construction, 176 required minor repairs while 47 bridges required major fixes. 18 bridges were to be dismantled and were to be reconstructed.

However, the bridge department has proposed to repair nine bridges including Juhu Tara Road (near SNDT), Dhobi Ghar (Measu Nala, Andheri), Lokhandwala Complex bridge (Kamar Club, Near Andheri West).

BMC has allocated ₹31 crore for the same. The civic body has also proposed to repair the Vidhan Bhawan (FOB), Kemps Corner Flyover, Kennedy Bridge, Bellasis Road (ROB), Reay Road (ROB).
