Mumbai witnessed light to heavy drizzles in the city and the suburbs on September 26, Thursday during the evening as the commuters were heading back to their homes. However, the rains paused after a while by the night on Thursday. In the meantime, it is expected that Mumbai might witness meagre showers on Friday.

More importantly, it is being forecasted that rains might play spoilsport during Navratri 2019 which begins Sunday onwards. As monsoon in Mumbai drifts towards a conclusion, it is possible that the showers might make an appearance like they had during Ganesh Utsav 2019.

Earlier, during the 10-day long festival, the devotees were frustrated as the monsoon hampered the Ganesh Utsav celebrations. While the citizens had expected that they would be able to enjoy Navratri without any hindrances, the forecast has suggested otherwise as there are possibilities of showers with the inception of the nine-day festival.

The citizens previously, had to face moderate to heavy rains on Thursday, as it began 4:00 pm onwards. The most affected parts were Mumbai city, Navi Mumbai, and some regions in Thane. By 5:30 pm, the Colaba observatory had recorded 14.0 mm rainfall whereas the Santacruz observatory had recorded 0.4 mm rainfall.
