Due to the rains last week, it has affected both the quality and price of vegetables. The rate of spoilage of vegetables is increasing due to soaking. Therefore, the rates of vegetables have skyrocketed despite the increase in arrivals in the APMC market.

The rains in the state including Navi Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs last week have affected the production of vegetables. In the APMC market in Vashi, the arrival of vegetables increased by 100-150 carts and 712 vehicles entered, however, there were a lot of soaked vegetables. Due to which, the quality of vegetables has deteriorated. Prices of peas, tomatoes, and fenugreek have increased, while the prices of Shimla and green chillies have fallen.
