Maharashtra is one of the most impacted states in the country at the moment. Even though the state claims that it is also doing the maximum number of tests, there is still a looming concern regarding the state being able to manage the coronavirus outbreak in an effective and efficient manner,
While Prime Minister had announced a 21-day lockdown on March 24, the same was in effect in Maharasthra from March 21 itself. In addition, to this Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray has already announced that this lockdown will be extended till April 30, 2020. He has even hinted that it may be extended further if the people do not follow the social distancing norms.
However, despite this, there have been instances of people flouting the rules and ignoring social distancing norms that have been laid. Earlier in the day, there were news reports of a traffic jam at Western Express Highway. and now, Mumbai Live has received a video, which was shot between 6:15 to 6:30 PM at Gulshan Colony, off Yari Road, Versova, Andheri West, where one can see a bunch of people playing kho-kho during the evening. Moreover, none of them seem to be wearing a face mask, which is now mandatory to wear.

When we spoke to one of the residents in the colony, they shared that this is something that has been happening in the colony for the past 4 to 5 days. "Every evening, the youngsters of the building come down for a cricket match or kho-kho like today between 5:00 to 7:00 PM." They also shared that any attempts to reason with them politely have not yielded any results.
We at Mumbai Live believe the only way to effectively deal with the virus is to stay home and stay safe and to encourage the same, we have forwarded this video to Mumbai Police and other authorities so they can take appropriate actions and ensure that the social distancing is followed.
