In a recent update, it is revealed that a fire broke out at the Ripon Palace Hotel based in Mumbai Central. This place is currently being used as a quarantine centre for Coronavirus (COVID-19) treatment. The hotel is located at Belasis Road and was used currently with 25 patients.
The fire was confined to the lodging room, and officials were informed about the same at 5:39 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. The G+3 structure was smoke logged and reports stated that four fire engines with other rescue operation teams have reached the spot to douse the fire.
Chief Fire Officer, PS Rahangdale said that the patients were brought to the safety point and rescue operation is underway. ANI stated, "Fire under control at Rippon Hotel on Bellasis Road in Nagpada. Total 27 people including 25 patients and 2 staff rescued; cooling operation on."
