Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya has alleged that advertising company director Bhavesh Bhinde paid a bribe of INR 46 lakh to the then Government Railway Police (GRP) commissioner's wife's company.

A letter to Fadnavis

The former BJP MP said he had written to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis requesting him to suspend the then state police commissioner Qaiser Khalid for the Ghatkopar hoarding scam. On May 13, 17 people were killed and more than 70 injured when a large hoarding collapsed amid a storm and unseasonal rain in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area, police said.

Serious accusation of Somaiya

In a post on Twitter on Sunday, Somaiya made a serious claim regarding the Ghatkopar hoarding incident. Police SIT seized evidence and bank entries of INR 46 lakh bribe. Bhavesh Bhinde had paid INR 46 lakh to Qaisar Khalid (Railway Police Commissioner) through Mohammad Arshad Khan who then deposited in the account of Mohapatra Garments Private Limited.
