Heat wave continues in Maharashtra. In the last 45 days, 77 people have become victims of heat stroke. Meanwhile, the heat is going to increase in Mumbai too. According to meteorologists, the maximum temperature will rise from Monday, and the mercury may reach 37 degrees Celsius.
As the daytime temperature in Mumbai has remained between 32 and 33 degrees Celsius for the past few days, the weather department has indicated that this equation will change from Monday due to the early onset of sea breeze. The heat is going to increase in the metropolis. Meteorologist Rajesh Kapadia said that currently the winds coming from the Arabian Sea towards the city are dying down early in the day, so there is no rise in temperature.
From Monday, easterly winds and sea breezes will not let up, so daytime temperatures could reach 37 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature will be between 25 to 26 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury could be recorded as high as 36 degrees Celsius on April 15 and 37 degrees Celsius on April 16. The maximum temperature in Mumbai on Sunday was 33.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius.
According to data from the health department, the highest number of heat stroke cases have been reported since March 1 - Buldhana has 12, Sindhudurg 9, Wardha 8, Nashik 6, Pune and Kolhapur 5 each.
