Adarsh Shetty, President Indian Association Hotel and Restaurants has asked Supreme Court to take back the decision of ban on the sale of liquor near national highways and state highways. The decision has impacted bars and restaurants in a huge manner.
Shetty was addressing a press conference and stated that 9 lakh people will lose their jobs. The decision has caused closure of 25,000 bars and 10,000 permit rooms. The order will cost the government Rs 7,000 crore every year. For many regular visitors to the wine shops, bars and restaurants along the western express and eastern express it came as the shocker for them as they were refused liquor.
