The seven members of the same family died in a house fire in the Siddharth Colony area of Chembur in the early hours of Sunday morning, October 6. They were cremated at the crematorium in the Postal Colony area at 8 pm on Sunday. A large number of citizens along with leaders of various political parties were present on this occasion.
For the last 50 to 60 years, the Gupta family lived in the Siddharth Colony area. So after this incident, sadness spread over the entire Siddhartha Colony.
Meanwhile, after extinguishing the fire at the house of Chediram Gupta in Siddharth Colony area, some unknown persons were roaming there. They entered the stricken house and broke the cupboard and looted jewellery and cash worth INR 12 to 14 lakh. Chediram's daughter has filed a complaint in Chembur police station in this matter and the police are investigating further in this matter.
After the fire incident, the deceased were immediately shifted to Rajawadi Hospital. This time Aadhaar card was needed to prepare his death certificate. For this, Chediram's daughter Vandana Gupta had sent her daughter to collect the Aadhaar card from the cupboard of the accident house.
At this time, she noticed that the safe in the closet of the house was broken. She immediately told this matter to Vandana. So they also entered the spot. After inspection, he lodged a complaint in this matter at Chembur police station on Monday. In the complaint, it has been mentioned that four and a half lakh rupees in cash and gold ornaments belonging to the women of the family were stolen from the cupboard of the house. The Chembur police are investigating further in this matter.
