Mumbai Fire Brigade will soon have a new training facility in Kandivali. The announcement was made on Monday, April 14, which is observed as National Fire Services Day.

The new centre will help the fire brigade improve its ability to handle emergencies. It will be built on the large grounds of the Kandivali fire station. The centre will have advanced tools and equipment. Firefighters will practise and learn new skills there.

The centre will offer live training. It is the first such training facility in India. It will be designed to create real-life emergency situations. This will help firefighters get better training.

As per reports, the centre will be ready in about eight months. The groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place later this year.

On Monday, an event was also held at the Byculla fire station and headquarters. It was held to honour the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters.

Several senior officials attended the event. These included Chief Fire Officer Ravindra Ambulgekar, Maharashtra Fire Services Director Santosh Warik, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Prashant Gaikwad, and Additional Municipal Commissioner Amit Saini.
