Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust has registered a case against 17 people in connection with a fraud worth INR 1,250 crore in the last 20 years at Lilavati Hospital. This information was given by the Executive Director of Lilavati Hospital and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh at a press conference on Tuesday. Meanwhile, he gave another shocking information. He said that black magic is being practiced at Lilavati Hospital.
Parambir Singh said some former employees of the trust had complained a few months ago that black magic rituals were being performed in the office where permanent trustee Prashant Mehta and his mother Charu Mehta sit.
“When the office floor was dug up, eight pots filled with human remains, rice, human hair and other black magic materials were found buried." After the police refused to register a complaint, we approached the Bandra court and now the magistrate himself is investigating the matter under Section 228 of the BNSS," said the former police commissioner.
Fraud at Lilavati Hospital?
After the current board of directors took over the management of Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, the former board of directors was accused of financial fraud worth hundreds of crores of rupees. Therefore, the board of directors appointed a forensic auditor to uncover irregularities in operations. The forensic audit found serious irregularities such as illegal transfer of trust funds to overseas accounts, illegal financial transactions in the form of legal expenses, fraudulent investments, and large-scale bribery by the accused.
Also, a forensic audit revealed financial irregularities worth around INR 1250 crore. These activities have shaken the financial integrity of the trust. Due to this, permanent trustee Prashant Kishor Mehta (55) filed a complaint with the Bandra police against 17 people, including former trustees. However, as the police refused to register an FIR, he filed a complaint in the Bandra court. The court ordered the Bandra police to register an FIR, said Parambir Singh, executive director of Lilavati Hospital and former Mumbai Police Commissioner, at a press conference on Tuesday.
