The "Drug-Free Navi Mumbai" (Nasha Mukt Navi Mumbai) campaign was started by Navi Mumbai Police in an attempt to stop drug usage and advance a drug-free society. The goal of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is to eradicate drugs from the state, and this project is in keeping with that goal.
The campaign has been led by Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, and its ambassador is well-known Bollywood actor John Abraham. At the campaign's launch on January 8 at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate was the first to take action by implementing it after his announcement to start the campaign.
The campaign's goals are to increase public knowledge of the risks associated with drugs, combat drug misuse, and establish a drug-free community. The police want to target colleges, universities, and schools as part of the campaign, attempting to rid these establishments of drug use. In order to help them reintegrate into society, young people who have been impacted by substance usage will also receive counselling and rehabilitation. According to Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, the ultimate objective is to eradicate drugs from the city.

Additionally, a helpline number - 8828 112 112 has been setup allowing people to anonymously submit drug-related information. The police have urged people to take part in the campaign and report drug-related activity by calling the helpline. It could have to do with drug use, sales, or purchases. Police will encourage anyone with suggestions to contact us anonymously by calling the helpline number, Bharambe said.
In order to disseminate the word about a drug-free city, the campaign will deploy digital banners and hoardings in more than 200 locations around Navi Mumbai, including schools, colleges, train stations, business parks, malls, and hospitals. Students in higher secondary schools and universities have received more than 1,200 T-shirts that support the cause. Public transport, like buses & autorickshaws, and police cars, also have the branding of the "Nasha Mukt Navi Mumbai" campaign.
"I have never touched drugs ever in my life. In order to succeed in life, discipline is essential," said actor John Abraham, who volunteered to be the campaign's face, during the inauguration. Abraham told the audience, which was mostly made up of college and school-age children, to stay fit and stay away from any kind of addiction. Additionally, street plays, radio IVR, phone IVR (ringtones), and social media influencers will be used in public awareness campaigns. Additionally, well-known cab services like Ola and Uber will air ads supporting the drug-free campaign.
Even audiences at international events, such as Coldplay's performance at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Nerul, awareness of the campaign will be enhanced and the ad with the message will be heard.
