Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has introduced a new smart card called 'Mumbai 1', which could serve as your single ticket to all public transport in India's financial metropolis. This could be used for several forms of public transport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

CM Fadnavis announced that the card's architecture will be complete in a month and that the single card, Mumbai 1, could be used to travel by Metro, Mono Rail, local trains, and public transport buses.

State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest state-owned institution, and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) have launched the Mumbai 1 Card.

This co-branded card is a contactless dual interface (EMV chip-based) prepaid card with stored value capabilities. "Compartmentalisation of amount for different utilities such as transit, amongst others is a unique feature of this State Bank Mumbai1 Card, which can be used for loading of passes for metro as well as buses, using the store value of the card," according to the Mumbai 1 Card section of the SBI website.

Mumbai 1 Card KYC Process:

To convert a minimal details card to a Full-KYC card, the cardholder must bring the original and a photocopy of the following documents to the specified branches: picture ID proof, address proof, PAN card or Form 60, and a passport-sized photo. To convert the Minimum Details Card to a Full KYC card, the customer must fill out an application form. The form will be issued by the respective branches.

How to recharge the Mumbai 1 card?

According to the SBI website, there is no card issuance charge, and the maximum total chip balance limit is INR 2000. There is no reload or top-up fee. The smart card has no annual maintenance fees. The cost of replacing the card would be INR 100.

The minimum top-up amount is INR 100 (the initial top-up must be INR 100, followed by multiples of INR 100). TopUp can be done at the Metro station or via the customer portal https://oneview.prepaid.sbi.

Where To Get the Mumbai 1 Smart Card?

It can be purchased at MMRDA Metro Lines 2A and 7. Simply visit your nearest MMRDA Metro Line 2A or Line 7 station and ask for the MUMBAI1 at the counter. Fill out the easy Application Form and submit it to the operator. After the operator enters the details, an OTP will be generated and delivered to the mobile number you gave in the application. After validating the OTP, pay the top-up amount to load the card's balance for use.

Documents Required for Mumbai 1 Card:

To obtain a card, you must visit your local MMRDA Metro Line 2A or Line 7 metro station with your PAN and self-declaration of one of the following OVD (Officially Valid Document).

The following numbers are also needed: Passport Number, Voter ID Number, Driving Licence Number, NREGA Job-card Number, Letter issued by the National Population Register containing data of name, address, or any other document as notified by the Central Government in conjunction with the Regulator. Proof of possession of an Aadhaar number.

How to Check Mumbai One Card Balance?

Visit your nearest MMRDA Metro Lines 2A & 7 station and tap your MUMBAI1 card on the Ticket Readers (TRs) situated there. The card's balance will be displayed on the screen.
