From April to December 2024, action was taken against 1,881 auto drivers by the Navi Mumbai Sub Regional Office. Areas like Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, Vashi, and Nerul are known for undisciplined auto drivers, making travel difficult for passengers.
Auto drivers often take advantage of passengers at railway stations and in areas where there are no other transport options, charging excessive fares or refusing rides. In some places, they run without a proper meter and set their own fares.

Strict action has been taken against such auto drivers, including:
A total of 4,358 vehicles have been seized, and 1,881 auto drivers were found guilty. A fine of ₹34.47 lakh has been collected, according to Deputy Regional Transport Officer Gajanan Gawande.
