Now Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has decided to schedule two days per week of half-day water restrictions throughout the city except Digha; whereas Airoli will see water cut only once a week. These restrictions, which began on June 4, are due to the low water reserve in Morbe Dam.

Here is the schedule of water cuts in Navi Mumbai:

Digha: No Water Cut

Airoli ward: Friday

Belapur ward: Monday, Thursday

Nerul ward: Tuesday, Saturday

Turbhe ward: Wednesday, Sunday

Vashi ward: Thursday, Monday

Ghansoli ward: Wednesday, Sunday

Koparkhairane ward: Tuesday, Saturday

Earlier, there were one-day water restrictions in the evening by the NMMC. All city nodes are now expected to experience these water cuts.

Morbe dam reserve, which supplies water to Navi Mumbai, currently holds 29 per cent of water, with the water level at 70.46 metres. It is said to be well below the dam's spilling point of 88 metres. The authority estimates that the Morbe Dam will only be able to supply water for the next 52 days.

Mumbai and Thane civic bodies have also announced 10 per cent water cut across the city from June 5.
