State to scrutinise 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' applications to rule out malpractices

Women who were illegally usurping the benefits of Chief Minister ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ will be scrutinised. As per the complaints, women with an annual income of more than two and a half lakhs and a four-wheeler at home are also taking advantage of the scheme. Hence, the state government has decided to re-examine.


Former women and child welfare minister Aditi Tatkare told a newspaper that the applications will be rejected after scrutiny. Some malpractice has been noticed in the Ladaki Bahin Yojana. Especially women with income above the limit are also benefiting from the scheme. Applications will now be scrutinised. Former women and child welfare minister Aditi Tatkare said that if irregularities are found in it, the beneficiary will be dismissed.

After the swearing-in ceremony of the Mahayuti, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' will continue. He also clarified that the increased payment will be given after proper coordination in the financial planning.


At the same time, it is known that there have been many complaints that women outside the norms are taking advantage of the scheme. Therefore, scrutiny of applications has been started and out of 2 crore 34 lakh beneficiaries, 15 to 20 percent women are likely to be disqualified.
