The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a plot of 2.327 acres for the establishment of Maharashtra Sadan in Ayodhya. Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan said that this Maharashtra Sadan, which is being built for the convenience of guests, devotees and tourists from Maharashtra state, will be completed in the next 2 years.
The Maharashtra government had made such a request so that devotees going to the Ram Temple from here could be provided state-run accommodation.
A green field township is being developed near the National Highway, Sharyu River in Ayodhya by the Planning Department of the Uttar Pradesh government. A provision of INR 67.14 crore has been made by the Public Department for the acquisition of plots.
Ravindra Chavan, while inspecting the proposed site in Ayodhya yesterday, June 11, said that a budget of about 260 crores has been prepared for the construction, electrification and other facilities of this building.
Additional Chief Secretary of the department Manisha Mhaiskar-Patankar, Secretary Sadashiv Salunkhe, Secretary Sanjay Dashputre, Chief Engineer Ranjit Hande and Engineer PK Singh, Abhishek Verma, Vinay Chavan and other officials of the Planning Department of Uttar Pradesh were present.
Ayodhya is about 7.5 km away from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. While 4.5 km from Ayodhya Dham Railway Station. This proposed Maharashtra Sadan will be built at a distance of about 11.5 km from the newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya.
The government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made a deal to pay 10 per cent of the amount to the Uttar Pradesh government through the Public Works Minister. The process of construction of Bhakta Sadan will be started soon after making full payment of the site in the next two months.
Similarly, Ajit Pawar, who oversees the planning and finance department, has planned a Maharashtra Sadan in Srinagar.
