In a bowler-dominated match, Mumbai emerged as champions after defeating Delhi by four wickets. The team won the title after a span of 11 years since their 2007 victory with the help of a 105-run partnership between Siddhesh Lad and Aditya Tare. While Siddhesh Lad lost his wicket just two runs prior to his half-century, Aditya Tare scored a match-winning 71 to lead Mumbai to victory.
The start for Mumbai was not-so-merry after they lost four wickets in quick succession to leave the team at 40-4. The top-order of the team was dismissed by an in-form Navdeep Saini who bowled seven overs in his first spell and sent Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane and Suryakumar Yadav, back to pavilion.
Meanwhile, after the team’s much-famed top order crumbled against the Delhi bowlers, the middle order took charge of the situation and Mumbai’s Aditya Tare and Siddhesh Lad stitched a 105-run partnership to stabilise the innings for their team. Throughout the series, neither Lad nor Tare had spent much time on the crease, but when the opportunity came their way, they didn’t hesitate to showcase their class.

Later in the match, both of them were dismissed by the Delhi bowlers but by the time they returned back to pavilion, the work for Mumbai had been done. With the help of Shivam Dubey lusty strokes, Mumbai managed to win the finals with four wickets in their hand.
Earlier, Mumbai had won the toss and sent the Delhi team to bat first. Both the teams had entered the finals with one change each; Lad came in for Rohit Sharma whereas Prashu Vijayran was replaced by Mann Sharma. Bowling on a green-top pitch, Mumbai started off well as Tushar Deshpande and Dhawal Kulkarni reduced Delhi to 21-3 by the sixth over.
Due to lack of partnerships, Delhi failed to score big and ended up setting up an easy target for Mumbai who chased the target with 15 overs in hand. Surprisingly, Shivam Dubey who had been a weak link for the bowling attack finished with 3-29 for Mumbai in the finals.
Brief scores: Delhi 177 in 45.4 overs (Himmat Singh 41, Suboth Bhati 25; Shivam Dubey 3-29, Dhawal Kulkarni 3-30) lost to Mumbai 180/6 in 34.5 overs (Aditya Tare 71, Siddhesh Lad 48; Navdeep Saini 3-53) by 4 wickets
