We do not want to fight the Akshay Shinde encounter case, accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case. Shinde's parents demanded in the High Court on Thursday that it should be closed. A bench of Justice Revati Dere and Justice Neela Gokhale took cognizance of the plea of Shinde's parents. Upon asking if they are being pressurised, the parents denied.
"We cannot put up with the travelling and the stress. Also, our daughter-in-law delivered a baby and lives alone." Shinde's parents also told the court that they are going to live with her and they don't want to fight Akshay's encounter case anymore. His parents therefore reiterated their request that it be closed. Following which, the court has adjourned the matter to February 7.
Akshay Shinde, accused of sexually abusing minor girls in a school, was allegedly killed in an encounter by a team of police. His parents had approached the High Court stating that it was a encounter and he did not fire at police officials and filed the case for the same. They alleged that Akshay was killed in an encounter to protect the actual accused in the case and demanded that the investigation be handed over to the Central Crime Investigation Department.
