Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials seized 9487 grams of gold worth INR 7.69 crore from two passengers who landed at Mumbai airport after flying between Jaipur and Mumbai.


The officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence received information that two passengers travelling on Jaipur-Mumbai flight were smuggling gold. On the basis of this information, the officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence kept surveillance at the Mumbai airport

The officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence intercepted two passengers who disembarked from the Jaipur-Mumbai flight after their movements were suspicious. When their belongings were checked, 9487 grams of gold worth INR 7.69 crore was found. It was also found that both the passengers were travelling with fake identity cards. Both the passengers were arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
