Mumbai: Former BJP MP's nephew committed suicide, jumped from the sixth floor

The 21-year-old nephew of former Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sangamalal Guppa committed suicide in Mumbai on Tuesday (October 15) afternoon. The young man jumped from the sixth floor of the building where he lived. Andheri Police have informed about this incident. The name of the deceased youth is Sagar Ramkumar Gupta. Sagar was studying engineering in Mumbai. He lived with his family on the seventh floor of Hari Darshan Building in Ambujwadi area of Andheri East.

Citing an officer of Andheri police station, The Print has published the news of this suicide case. Police said, “Sagar returned home from college in the afternoon. He did not interact with any family members when he came home. He then went to the 'duct area' on the sixth floor. From there he jumped down. Some pedestrians saw his dead body and screamed. Also he informed the police about the incident and they took Sagar to the nearest hospital. Doctors at the hospital checked him and declared him dead before admitting him for treatment.


What is the cause of suicide?

Police said they have not received any suicide note or similar message. The police have registered an accidental death in this case. Senior Police Inspector Umesh of Andheri Police Station said that the deceased youth was the nephew of a senior leader of Uttar Pradesh BJP and former MP Sangamalal Gupta. Police have started an inquiry in Sagar's college to find out the reason behind Sagar's suicide. His friends and teachers will also be interrogated. Was Sagar depressed?
