After gaining the complainant's trust, the fraudsters tricked him into installing an app called BVE. After that, the lawyer started investing in the stock market through that app, police sources said. The customer service assistant was helping him with investments and guiding him to deposit money in different bank accounts for investments. Gradually the lawyer invested 1 crore 58 lakh rupees. In the app, he seems to have made a profit of 4 crore rupees. He then tried to withdraw the money, however he was not able to do the same. Following which, he was removed from the WhatsApp group.

Eventually the complainant lawyer realised that he had been cheated. He immediately rushed to the police. In this regard, the Western Regional Cyber Police have recently registered a case under the Prevention of Information Technology Act and the members of the cheating cyber gang are being searched.
