Police have arrested a person in connection with the murder at a spa in Mumbai's Worli area, officials confirmed the same on Thursday. Mumbai Police's crime branch arrested the 26-year-old accused from Nalasopara in neighbouring Palghar district late on Wednesday night, hours after the murder.
Guru Waghmare (52) was murdered by two unidentified people in the early hours of Wednesday at a spa. Waghmare claimed to be a police informer and Right to Information activist. Several cases of rape and extortion have been registered against him.
The police officer said that a murder was committed by supari killer. Also the investigation of this case is going on. According to the details of the case, Waghmare, a resident of Vile Parle in Mumbai, used to visit the spa at Worli Naka regularly and was known to the people working there. Waghmare would have gone to the spa on Tuesday evening. His 21-year-old female friend and three male friends asked him to a party as they had just celebrated their birthdays. The group of five then went to a hotel in Sion for a party.

They all returned to the spa around 12.30 am on Wednesday. The trio left after some time, while Waghmare and his female friend stayed behind, police said. About two hours later, two different men came to the spa and murdered Waghmare with sharp weapons.
The incident was reported to the Worli police at around 2:30 in the morning. When the police rushed to the spot, Waghmare was found in a pool of blood with his throat cut. At least 10 cases have been registered against the deceased, including rape, at the Mulund police station, police said.
