A case has been registered against a teacher for molesting a 13-year-old student of a school in Kandivali. The victim girl told the principal of the school about the incident. After that, the headmistress informed the victim girl's family about this incident and filed a complaint with the Kandivali police.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) in this regard. This incident happened between July 29 and July 30, however, the victim did not tell anyone about this out of fear.
The headmistress of the school took the victim girl into confidence and discussed it with her. At that time, the student said that the accused teacher was molesting her. After the headmistress realised that this incident was serious, she immediately called the victim girl's parents to the school and informed them about the incident. The girl's parents were shocked. They informed the principal that they should take action in this matter as the school is responsible for the safety of the children. After that, the headmistress lodged a complaint with the Kandivali police in this matter.
According to this, the police registered a case under Sections 74 (molestation), 78 (repeated contact or stalking of a woman), 79 (obscene gestures or indecent communication) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act. Police are investigating further in this matter.
