The schedule of competitive exams for 2020 has gone for a complete toss due to the coronavirus outbreak. The examinations are held in March and the entrance exams are conducted in the months that follow.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 was earlier scheduled to be held in the month of May but now a new date of September 7 has been announced. During this period, the exam has been postponed several times. Now, the Consortium of National Law Universities has announced that this competitive exam which is conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law course will take place on September 7 between 2 pm to 4 pm.

This year, CLAT 2020 will be held online at the designated centres across the country. The students who have applied for the same will be able to download their admit cards from the official website from August 24 at consortiumofnlus.ac.in and these admit cards will also carry information regarding the exam centres.

In a statement to media in this regards the Consortium is seeking permission from the government and local authorities in regards to using the admit card as a movement pass.

In the past other competitive exams have been pushed back. On July 3, the Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had announced that the entrance exam for JEE will be held between September 1 to 6, while JEE Advanced exam on September 27 and NEET exam on September 13. These exams had been postponed twice earlier.

On August 6, a petition was filed by eleven students of eleven states in the Supreme Court (SC) demanding the postponement of the entrance examinations of the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE) and the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) in view of the coronavirus crisis.
