Mumbai’s NMIMS University will apparently conduct end of semester examinations in the conventional paper-pen format when the institution reopens. This comes after several students complained about issues with online examinations.

University officials have said that details on the next steps will be sent over to the students after going through the guidelines issued by the government. The institution clarified that the decision to conduct pen and paper based examinations will apply to NMIMS' Schools of Commerce, Economics as well as Engineering.
“Considering the present situation that all educational institutions' stakeholders are undergoing and feedback received from a few students, NMIMS has decided to reschedule the proposed online exams,” Ramesh Bhat, the university’s Officiating Vice-Chancellor said.

The distance learning wing of Mumbai University, also known as the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) had to postpone its online examinations after one of its servers was reportedly hit by a cyber attack.
Meanwhile, some students in remote areas are unable to access a centre with stable internet connectivity, making things even more complicated for universities seeking to conduct exams during a pandemic.
