Instructions have been issued to the schools of the state education boards in the state to implement the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum (pattern) from the upcoming academic year. School Education Minister Dada Bhuse announced on Thursday that the curriculum will be implemented in the first phase for the first grade and will be implemented for the second, third and fourth grades from the next academic year.


sIt is a matter of debate as to when the CBSE curriculum should be implemented in state board schools. BJP leader Prasad Lad had raised a question in the Legislative Council regarding this. Bhuse said that it is partly true that the steering committee has approved the implementation of the CBSE curriculum for students from class 3 to 12 of the state board as per the National Education Policy.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also held discussions with officials of the School Education Department regarding the implementation of CBSE curriculum in state board schools. Dada Bhuse said that now it has been decided to implement it only from the first grade this year and that it will be mandatory for all schools in the state.


Changes will be made in the curriculum of state board schools from the academic year 2025-26. The curriculum plan has been approved by the steering committee. Discussions are underway for its implementation. Further action will be taken accordingly, said School Education Minister Dada Bhuse.
