During the immersion, thousands of people visit Chowpatty. But, this year, devotees are told not to go deep into sea owing to the occurrence of jellyfishes. Medical teams which are stationed are asking people to take special care while entering into the sea, as jellyfish stings. During 2013-2014, several jellyfish stinging cases were registered. BMC is also asking devotees to use boats to immerse idols instead of going barefoot in sea.
