Mumbaikars might get respite from humidity as the Meteorological Department has predicted light showers in Mumbai as well as Thane and Palghar areas for the next few days.
The rains that fell at the end of July have taken a break since the beginning of August. Though there are occasional light showers in Mumbai, it has increased the heat and humidity.
The city as well as the suburbs received rain in some areas in the beginning of August. However, after that, the wait for rain continues. Occasional rain has been reported in some areas. But in the first fortnight of August, it has not rained as much as expected.
Meanwhile, similar situation will continue in Mumbai for the next few days. But light showers will fall in some areas. During this period, the weather will remain cloudy throughout the day. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be rain in some areas, while in some areas it will be dry.
A cyclonic wind condition prevails over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. Also there is a trough condition (monsoon trough). As a result of this, many parts of the state have been exposed to rain. Light showers are falling in some areas.
