Maharashtra has recorded over 200 patients of heat stroke so far. As compared to the previous years, the number of such cases have increased.
According to the state health department, a total of 202 cases of heatstroke have been reported in the Maharashtra in the last three months i.e March, April and May. Of which, Nashik (23), Buldhana (21), Jalna (20), Dhule (20) districts reported the highest number of patients. Solapur and Sindhudhurg witnessed 18 and 10 cases respectively; whereas Pune saw seven such cases.
Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that out of the total cases, 143 have been reported in the last 22 days.
The number of heat stroke patients is more in the month of April as compared to March. While 41 cases of heat stroke were reported across the state in March, the figure rose to 184 in April. Dhule had the highest number of heat stroke patients before 26 April.
Between April 26 to May 5, 21 new patients have been reported in the state. With the highest number of 11 patients reported in Jalna earlier, the number of patients has now increased to 20. Besides, six patients each have been found in Nashik and Buldhana. With this, the number of patients in Nashik and Buldhana has now touched to 23 and 20 respectively.
