The number of coronavirus cases in Kalyan-Dombivli has seen an increase over the last few weeks. As of June 27. the report from the Maharashtra State Health Ministry mentioned that Kalyan-Dombivli region witnessed the highest single-day jump ever with 436 COVID-19 cases reported in one day, taking the total to 5,309 cases. Besides this five deaths were reported today taking the death toll to 101.

On May 29, 1,991 cases were reported, while on June 15, the area had 2,780  cases. Over the last month, the locality has seen more than 350 per cent jump in the number of coronavirus cases. As of June 26, 2020, KDMC has also imposed a complete lockdown across certain containment areas in Kalyan and Dombivli. A total of 32 areas were sealed by the officials, and as per guidelines, only essential services in these areas will be allowed from 9 AM. To 5 PM.

Over the last few days, more than 300 new cases have been reported in the locality, every day.

Earlier this month, KDMC had also recruited some doctors and other staff for the hospitals and medical services. 514 vacancies were opened and the interviews for the same were held on June 11-12, 2020.

On June 26, Maharashtra witnessed highest single-day jump with 5,024 COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 1,52,765 cases.
