While the rains are intensifying in the district, there is also an increase in the number of dengue and malaria patients in various cities. More than 32 patients have been registered in the government office in Thane district in the last few days. But the number of patients is likely to be more. Therefore, the administration is appealing to the citizens to be careful.


In the last few days, rains have picked up in Thane district. Therefore, the water reserves in the district are gradually increasing. Due to rain, water also accumulates in open and low-lying areas. Natural streams have flowed. At the same time, water has started to accumulate in open, low-lying areas, under-construction buildings, dilapidated and closed houses in the residential areas of the city. As a result, the breeding of mosquitoes has increased and the disease has started to spread. It has been observed that the number of dengue and malaria patients has increased in the district for the past few days. 32 patients have been reported in Thane district in the last one month. Among these, the number of dengue-like patients is large.

Since many people are receiving treatment at the private level if they show symptoms, many of them are not registered in the local municipal administration. The district health department has informed that 10 dengue patients have been reported in Thane district in the last one week. But at the same time, 12 dengue patients have been reported in Badlapur city alone in the health department of Kulgaon Badlapur municipality. Therefore, the number of dengue patients in the district is likely to be more. 


It has also come to light that more than one patient has been registered in the same house. Therefore, the number of dengue patients is feared to increase. The number of malaria patients in the district has also reached 20. Therefore, the administration is appealing to take care.


The district health department is implementing various measures to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases. This rapid fever survey is being conducted at the place of fever outbreak. If a patient is found to be infected with winter fever, their family members are also being sent for blood tests. Whereas in Bhiwandi, the number of labourers coming for work from other cities is more. These labourers are also being surveyed. Guppy fish are being released in drains and ponds in rural areas. A guppy fish breeding centre is being implemented in every primary health centre in the rural areas.
