Mumbaikars are currently experiencing cool and hot weather due to the fluctuating weather conditions. During the winter period, the health complaints of the citizens have also started to increase due to the adverse weather conditions. Citizens are going to hospitals with complaints of cold, cough and viral infections. The risk of heatstroke has also increased due to the hot sun.


For the past few days, Mumbai has been facing cold weather in the morning and scorching heat in the afternoon. The situation was somewhat similar in the month of January. 


Minimum temperatures between 13 and 16 degrees were recorded very rarely during the winter season. On the other hand, the minimum temperature was often increasing. Due to minimum and maximum temperature, the climate is constantly changing and it is also affecting human health. This is why the elderly are currently suffering from colds and coughs. With the increase in temperature day by day, the rate of heat stroke has also increased.

For the past several days, Mumbaikars have been suffering from severe heat. Last week, the temperature in Mumbai crossed 36 degrees for three consecutive days. Citizens of Mumbai are currently shocked due to the afternoon heat.  During this period of change of seasons, we are currently experiencing dew in the morning and facing hot sun in the afternoon. Some parts of Mumbai are still slightly drizzly in the morning. 


The Meteorological Department's Colaba center recorded a minimum temperature of 22.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while the Santa Cruz center recorded a minimum of 20.2 degrees Celsius. Mumbai's minimum temperature is also increasing compared to the previous two days. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted that this rise in temperature will continue.


Heatstroke

Due to the sun, the skin becomes pigmented, the eyes burn, dizziness, along with the feeling of restlessness in the body.


How to protect yourself in summer


  • If the heat is high, drink plenty of water.
  • Do not do body-stressing exercises in summer.
  • Wear light, light colored and loose clothing.
  • When the temperature is high, sit in the shade.

What to do in case of heatstroke

  • Immediately move the affected person to a cool place or shade.
  • Ventilate the person for as long as possible.
  • Drink enough water, drink buttermilk, lemon water, coconut water.
