Many motorists often complain about the decongestion and traffic, especially during peak hours at Dahisar check naka, which is one of the five entry and exit points of the city.
Therefore, in a major relief to Mumbaikars, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to construct an additional bypass road that will ensure smooth traffic movement in the area.
For this, multiple agencies will take steps for decongestion including removal of encroachments.
This development comes after several citizens had taken to social media slamming state authorities over the traffic woes in the past few days.
Accordingly, the city guardian minister Aaditya Thackeray held a joint meeting with officials from traffic police, BMC, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
Over the past few days I have received tweets for Dahisar toll naka traffic issues. Along with @mybmc , @MMRDAOfficial , MSRDC, Mumbai Traffic Police, we have reviewed the situation and initiated an action plan to relieve the area of traffic woes at the earliest.

Moreover, on Sunday, September 12, the Minister tweeted that he has been receiving complaints about traffic issues at the toll naka. One of the key reasons for snarls is potholes on the stretch and the absence of Fastag lanes. The toll naka is an entry point to North Mumbai and witnesses the movement of lakhs of vehicles daily.
Every day, thousands of vehicles pass through Dahisar check naka, as along with the south Mumbai-bound traffic, it also handles cargo traffic going to Gujarat and towards Delhi to the north of India.
