The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that the construction of the Nariman Point - Cuffe Parade connector will start by 2022.
The State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray and the MMRDA Commissioner, S.V.R. Srinivas recently visited the site to review the project.
The MMRDA is planning a connector between Nariman Point and Cuffe Parade in order to decongest traffic. However, there are certain challenges that this project is facing due to geographical factors.

Speaking to mid-day, the MMRDA commissioner said, “In order to ease traffic from Cuffe Parade, Fort, Navy Nagar, Colaba and Churchgate, the MMRDA had planned a connector between Nariman Point and Cuffe Parade. The work on the project would probably begin next year, subject to clearance.”
The MMRDA’s plan includes laying a 1.6-kilometre connector between the two locations. The agency has hired a project management consultant to come up with a detailed project report.
This project will need requisite clearances from the Coast Guard, Indian Navy, as well as the State Environment Department. Moreover, Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray has stressed that the project work shall not harm or disturb local fishing activities.
