Navi Mumbai has introduced a one-click facility for voters to get all information about their polling booth, parking place in the vicinity, crowd status at the booth and voter turnout.

The Navi Mumbai police have launched a QR code and a dedicated weblink to help residents access vital polling information on election day. The goal is to simplify the voting process and boost voter participation.

Voters in the Airoli, Belapur, Panvel, and Uran constituencies can use the QR code or the weblink to find details about their polling station.

The link will contain the following information in real time:

1. The booth location

2. Parking availability

3. Number of people present at any given time.

4. Phone locker facility

By scanning the QR code or clicking the link, residents can access real-time updates provided by election officials stationed at polling booths.

Furthermore, all booths will have locker facilities. These lockers allow voters to store their mobile phones temporarily. However, voters are reminded that carrying mobile phones within 100 meters of a polling booth is prohibited. If bringing a phone is unavoidable, lockers are available at each booth to store up to six devices securely.

Real-time data on the number of voters at each place will be updated into the system by election officials stationed at the booths. This approach was taken to make polling booth information, such as dos and don'ts, crowd size, and voter turnout, easily accessible for residents.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar has appealed to people in the metropolis to keep aside their leave plans and vote in the Maharashtra assembly elections.

"I humbly request all Mumbaikars to exercise their voting right with responsibility and in a peaceful manner," Phansalkar said in a video message on Tuesday, November 18.

Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, November 20.
