Ahead of the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections next year, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has made changes in the state’s leadership. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has been appointed as general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and has been handed with the responsibility of Maharashtra. Kharge has replaced Mohan Prakash who held the post for nine years.
After being suddenly removed, Prakash expressed his gratitude towards the Congress President and Sonia Gandhi and thanked them for giving him a chance to work for the party. “I also want to thank party workers and leaders in the state,” said Prakash.
