In the wake of Lok Sabha election results in Maharashtra, NCP party has called a meeting of the MLAs on Thursday. The discussion of some MLAs of the party joining the Sharad Pawar group is now doing the rounds. It will be interesting to see if any MLAs leave Ajit Pawar's NCP to join Sharad Pawar's NCP party.


Ajit Pawar's group contested only four seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The party has managed to win one seat in Raigad. Ajit Pawar's group has faced a big setback in the Lok Sabha elections. It is being alleged that the NCP candidates did not receive the votes of the component parties of the Mahayuti. Also, assembly elections are on the horizon. All these matters will be discussed in the MLA meeting.

NCP had 53 MLAs in the Legislative Assembly. Out of them 43 MLAs supported Ajit Pawar. Sharad Pawar's Karjat-Jamkhed MLA Rohit Pawar has stated that 18 to 19 MLAs of Ajit Pawar's group are on the way to return to Sharad Pawar's NCP.
